A Message from Fr. Alan

Sunday Masses

Good to see everyone again at Mass last Sunday.

Good news!! On Thursday November 18th 2021, the State Government announced that from 11.59pm that same night places of worship may open for all celebrations, including weddings and funerals, for fully vaccinated attendees with no capacity limits or density limits.

Anyone aged 12 years and 2 months and over attending this Mass must be fully vaccinated and provide acceptable proof. A person is considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for the purposes of attending a Place of Worship if they:

  • Have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, or
  • Have a valid and authorised medical exemption to COVID-19 vaccination, or
  • Are aged under 12 years and 2 months.

If a person can show evidence of the above, they can enter as fully vaccinated. If they cannot show evidence of any of the above, they are not considered as fully vaccinated and may only participate in groups allowing for ‘unknown vaccination status.’ Proof of vaccination, or vaccination exemption, status to be sighted via the Victorian Services App (Tick indicator). Vaccination exemptions can be linked to your Victoria Services App. For those with hard copy certificates, record should be taken of Name, Contact and Acknowledgement of vaccination proof or vaccination exemption.

It is recommended that masks still be worn where it is not possible to physically distance.

Please arrive between 9.30am and 9.45am for the Sunday 10.00am Mass. This greatly assists our volunteers with checking in. Please go to page 3 to see the current list of restrictions.

Opening of our Church for Weekday Masses (Update)

As we continue to open up Weekday Masses will now take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week at 9.15am. This Mass will be open to all including those whose vaccination status is unknown. These Masses are still restricted to one person per 4 sqm. A cap of 50 people applies here.

Along with selected members of the Parish each week I continue to meet with Alezka Villaluz as she prepares to be received into the Church at Easter next year. Please continue to pray for her. Alezka will be introduced to the Parish community in the next few weeks.

Youth Sunday Observance

The Global Celebration of Young People takes place annually on the Solemnity of Christ the King in every diocese and community around the world, including at the Vatican with the Holy Father. Please keep all of our young people in our prayers this weekend.
