As we continue through unprecedented times my thoughts and my prayers are with you all. At this time I particularly feel for those who have died, are sick or who have lost their livelihoods as a result of the out-break of the Corona Virus COVID-19.
I have mentioned the current situation in both my Sunday homily and in a couple of weekday ones. I am hoping that looking at our current situation in the light of scripture may prove to be of some help.
There are some good things happening in the parish even though we cannot gather in person. Currently those parishioners who were visiting MECWA Noel Miller each fortnight have established a letter/card writing initiative to the residents there. MECWA has taken up this idea and is calling for volunteers who are unable to visit but who might like to write to residents or those they usually visit. I invite you at this time to consider joining this initiative. Please let me know if you have other suggestions for making non-physical contact with those in need until we can all resume our volunteering.
I am in continual contact with the Archdiocese. Let us continue to pray and support each other at this time.
