Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

The Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic Church are Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. For adults these are celebrated during the great liturgy of the Easter Vigil when the Christian community rejoices in the resurrection of their Lord.

The Parish of Malvern welcomes all inquirers who hear the call to follow Christ within the Catholic tradition. We invite you to approach any member of the parish who will introduce you to our community. Usually the process of preparation involves meetings over a number of months. We begin around August or September and the group of inquirers and sponsors meet regularly to share faith, pray, and participate in various activities of the parish community.

At the beginning of Lent each year those in the group who wish to enter the Catholic Church by receiving baptism or, if already baptised in another church, by making a profession of faith enter into a more intense period of preparation culminating in the Easter Vigil.

More information about RCIA is available here.

We invite any person interested in becoming a Catholic to contact the Parish Office.
