Suspension of Liturgies (Updated as at 25 March)

By now you are all aware of the decision by the Bishops of Victoria to suspend all liturgies and parish gatherings until further notice.

Channel 10 has Mass For You At Home at 5.55am this Sunday for those who wish to view Mass on free to air television.

I will continue to offer Mass privately and will honour every request for Mass Intentions that the Parish receives. I will investigate ways at how we can remain connected in some way during this time.

Due to the increased restrictions announced by the Government on Sunday night it is with much regret that the Church needs to close indefinitely. Unfortunately this means personal visits to the Church are not permitted until further notice.

I ask anyone who has a family member or friend that is very ill and would like me to pray for them to please contact me on either 94016391 or email.  Also, with permission, I could publish their name and ask other parishioners to pray for them.

Also during this time could I ask you to consider contacting your neighbours or people who live in your street, to see if they are ok? They may be lonely as a result of being isolated or self-isolated; they may need help with shopping or obtaining medicines. JoCare can co-ordinate if help is required.

Thank you for your support of the parish and for your understanding of what we need to do given the current circumstances. Please let us continue to pray for and support each other as we journey together into  uncharted waters.

Update as at Wednesday 25 March: See the attached document for details of all the restrictions placed on celebration of Mass, Baptisms, Confirmation and other sacraments:
